Paint-Swirled Ornaments

I had a lot of fun making these paint-swirled ornaments that I found on Pinterest (pinned from here).  I only wish I had a bigger tree to accommodate even more ornaments!

I just bought some basic glass ornaments from Michael's for $3.99 and I already had some acrylic paints but I picked up a couple more.  The cheap paints worked the best for me because they were thinner and ran down the sides more easily.

I call this one my 'mint chocolate chip' ornament... the green was SO thick it was nearly impossible to swirl around, looks pretty though.

I LOVE how they turned out, so unique!... and easy.  I was just disappointed that my silver paint dried more translucent and my gold paint was SO watery it didn't coat anything so I couldn't use it. Boo.  Oh well, they turned out awesomely!

  1. Did you bake these to dry these??

  2. I simply dumped out the excess paint and left the lids off for a few days.

  3. I hung mine on the tree and the paint inside melted and pooled on the bottom... Too much paint?
