Living Room Mood Board

Every time I go to Fred Meyer I see this adorable gray sectional and I've wanted it so badly.  I've sat on it briefly and it's just so comfortable but also stylish as well. I can totally see Russ hanging out on it and playing video games together. It usually hovers around $899-799 (and one time last holiday season it went down to $699) but I don't have a reason to buy it now- don't have the money or space. So, I guess it'll just have to live in my goofy little mood board that I worked up.

I Could Practically Live Here

There's this segment on a popular blog called Design Sponge that was called Living In and it was an ongoing post type that revolved around a certain style of a certain movie. It dissects the clothing and sets of a certain movie and they found coordinating products that fit in with the style of that film. Pretty cool. 

Here's some awesome ones: Living In: Cruel Intentions, Living In: That Thing You Do!, Living In: You've Got Mail, Living In: Downton Abbey, Living In: Rear Window, and this one especially Living In: The Secret Garden (I would have jumped into that movie so quickly when I was younger if I could've! Who wouldn't want to live in a huge house with a million rooms and discover strange keys that unlock new places on the grounds and turn it into the most beautiful garden ever? But, I digress.)  

If there's one film that I could jump into and just live there, I'm pretty sure Practical Magic would be at the top of the list. 

Here's one awesome thing: it was filmed on Whidbey Island which is a little ferry ride away across the water! I can go and tour Coupeville where they filmed the town scenes!

Why would I want to live in this film? Look at that house! The film's setting is what really made me fall in love with it. I love the story too, of course, because it's filled with witches and magic but the setting is just gorgeous. Unfortunately the house pictured above was just a shell for outdoor scenes and was torn down after filming. :( Boo. 

I want to sit at a rustic table outside in my garden in a huge hat!

I think the set designer did a beautiful job of making the interiors look antique, worn, and collected without looking too old or stuffy. It looks very lived-in and comfortable. 

This attic! How cool is this huge attic?!

The kitchen is an ideal blend of clean, white cabinets and tiles and a worn, farmhouse feel. 

I wish this were a real house! It's quite a convincing and elaborate set, isn't it?

Turquoisey Moody Bedroom Mood Board

I've already been dreaming of my new bedroom decor... I can't wait to get new bedding!  And surprise! I've picked gray again. I don't know why I just love the moodiness of gray. And it's a pretty tame and peaceful color for the bedroom.

One thing I really wanted to do in the new bedroom was not have to buy a ton of new things. I've got plenty of wonderful pieces that I knew I could repurpose in a new way in the new house.

Decor Idea

Last weekend Russ and I went into a board game store that had a huge assortment of calendars. Ever since I came across the idea to frame calendars for a cheap art alternative, that's almost all I see when I think of calendars!

That being said... wouldn't this be awesome in a frame in a grouping?! Same type of frame, same sizes... I think it would look incredibly cool and for a whopping $12.99, you have some wonderfully interesting art.

Balcony/Patio Mood Board

Happily, I can report that we have our apartment choices narrowed down... finally! What a chore. What a terrible, abominable chore it has been to weave through review after review, floor plan after floor plan. I feel dizzy just thinking about it. 

The search is OVER!

And, since I know wherever I end up will have a balcony or patio, I thought it would be super fun to come up with an outdoor space for once!

Design Friday: Home Office Edition

One of these days I will have a beautiful home office... so today I daydreamed and made a little design board of what it could possibly look like based around an awesome Seattle poster I stumbled upon on Pinterest. There's a lot of stuff from Ikea (of course) because that's mainly what's in my price range and an item or two from West Elm and Z Gallerie that I could probably not afford. Oh well, it was fun!

Moody Bathroom

Ever since I saw this shower curtain from Plasticland, I've been thinking about what kind of awesome bathroom would fit such an interesting curtain. So, I was just playing around and came up with this moody bathroom and thought it would be fun to share it!

Oh, I want so badly to live in an awesome apartment where I can paint. I would love one of those rich, dark gray/blues on the wall with some crisp, white trim. So pretty.
